BLM Wall Creek Restoration

The Bureau of Land Management the North Fork John Day Watershed Council  and Monument SWCD have a partnership project located on BLM lands with the  JV Ranch purchase area. The project is within the pasture areas that bookend the  Indian Creek watershed. This project will secure public water rights into instream  leases, treat noxious weeds within the project area, and design and implement  Low-Tech Process Based restoration instream to enhance Big Wall Creek fish and  beaver habitats. The multifaceted project aims to increase floodplain connectivity,  increase instream habitat complexity, and improve hardwood productivity within  the project area. Funding is administered through the Good Neighbor Authority  and the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board.
